READING, Pa—Eastern University Women's Lacrosse scored five times, but the Eagles were able to find enough offense in a 21-5 loss at Albright College.
Gracie Horton had three assists, and
Morgan Wallace and
Natalia Willoughby each scored twice.
The host Lions (8-8, 2-4) scored the first eight goals of the game and held an 8-1 edge in draw controls through one quarter. Willoughby scored the first goal of the second quarter, but the Lions scored the next three to go up 11-1 with seven minutes left in the half. Wallace stopped the clock with her 15th goal of the year, but Albright had an answer with five minutes left and another in the final second of the half.
The Eagles got 12 first-half saves from
Tori Benjamin, but the overwhelming advantage in possession and shots had the hosts up 13-2 at the break.
With the Lions looking to burn clock and secure the win, the scoring slowed int he second half. Wallace and Willoughby each scored int he third and Seana Rogers scored from Horton in the fourth.
With three points tonight, Horton now has 97 points in her career. Her mother, who graduated from Eastern in 2002, finished her career with 82 goals and 28 assists for 110 career points.
The Eagles (4-10, 0-6) will honor Horton and fellow graduates
Ava Weiman and Rogers before finishing the year with a noon game against Hood on Saturday.
