IMMACULATA, Pa.— Eastern University Women's Soccer scored twice in each half and the defense stood strong on the way to a 4-0 road win over the Immaculate University Mighty Macs.
Mia Zucker,
Ashlynn Keys and
Emma Bennett each scored goals as the Eagles secured their fifth clean sheet win of the 2025 season.
In a rivalry dating back to 1998, Eastern (5-0-1) had never lost to their Main Line rivals. Zucker put the Eagles up in the seventh minute when she ran through a
Nicole Eveland corner kick for her second goal of the season. With the tally, Zucker continues her trend of finding the goal on the road. Ten of her twelve career goals have come in road games.
Keys doubled the Eastern lead in the 28th minute. The senior winger intercepted an Immaculata outlet pass deep in the attacking end and lifted a 25-yard shot into the top of the net for her first goal of the fall. The senior from Lancaster has spent much of the last couple years in the back row but now has a goal and two assists in 2025.
In the 14 previous meetings between the two squads, Immaculata (1-2-1) had scored six times and had never scored twice in a match.
Eastern had a 9-4 edge in first half shots. Playing the first 45 minutes.
Faith Leake was credited with one save to earn the win.
Brooke Moskey finished the match in goal.
Though the Eagles controlled play in the second, the result remained in doubt until Bennett put the game away with a goal-of-the -year quality tally in the 73rd minute. After switching the play from the left side, the Eagles moved the ball to the right flank. Keys split the Immaculata lines with a pass into
Molly Schellpeper at the edge of the box. The first year midfielder received the pass, put her foot on the ball, and rolled the ball behind her. Bennett met the pass and smashed a low finish just inside the far post.
With reserves on, the Eagles add a final goal in the last minute on a cross from the left side from
Heather Abzug that went in off the head of an Immaculata defender.
The Eagles finished the match with an 18-6 edge in total shots.
Eastern will host Goucher College at 2:30 on Saturday. The 5-0-1 start is the longest unbeaten start in the history of the program.
