Trampe Joins Wrestling Staff

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.— In preparing his new programs for competition in the 25-26 academic year, Eastern University Director of Men's and Women's Wrestling Andrew Taylor has announced that Zack Trampe will join his staff to work with both programs.

Trampe served as a top assistant to Taylor for the last three seasons at Delaware Valley and will be an invaluable resource, serving as a top assistant as Taylor builds both Eastern rosters.

"Having the ability to bring Zack with me was a major factor in my decision to take on this challenge," Taylor said. "His wrestling resume speaks for itself, and I cannot think of anyone I would rather have with me in the trenches than Zack. I am grateful that Eric McNelly invested in the both of us with the goal of building championship level programs."

A Bucks County native, Trampe excelled as a high school wrestler at Council Rock South where he won a AAA State Title in 2017 and placed at the State meet two other times. He was twice named Bucks County Wrestler of the Year and was ranked as high as seventh nationally at 132 pounds.

He qualified for the NCAA Division I Championships in both his full seasons at Binghamton and finished with a 35-15 overall record in a COVID-shortened career.

Trampe's credentials on the mat cannot be questioned. Taylor, however, identified Trampe's shared vision for investing in the lives of student-athletes as the most critical element in keeping Trampe with him on his staff.

"Zack has an all-in approach to coaching." Taylor added. "He is committed to seeing our wrestlers excel in all areas while we build champion athletes who will thrive in college and beyond. I am thrilled to have him on my staff as we build our program."

When Eastern University first announced wrestling, it was for a 26-27 start date, but with recruiting already started and going well, Taylor has committed to competing with both men and women starting next November.
