EWING, N.J. - Eastern Men's Wrestling competed in a pair of dual matches and a few extra countable bouts at TCNJ on Saturday. The Eagles dropped a 49-0 decision to host TCNJ in first dual. Eastern was more competitive against the Arcadia Knights, but ultimately fell 27-20.

Malik Asfour recorded the signature win of the day over one of the top wrestlers in the country at 125, but Eastern came away with only seven victories in 22 matches.

"Today was another great opportunity for our guys to compete against high level competition," Head Coach Andrew Taylor said. "November is all about building the right habits to execute in February. We're excited at the challenge of continuing to build our culture and identity."

Jackson Orrell (3-1) went 1-1 on the day at 125. He earned his third win of the young season with a decision win over TCNJ's Joey DeAngelo, but lost his first match of the season to Arcadia's Hobe Givens by decision.

Malik Asfour (5-3) recorded an impressive victory over Delaware Valley's Ethan Liptzin in the extra countable matches. Liptzin was a 2024 National Qualifier and is ranked 13th in the nation at 125. Asfour won by technical fall in 2:13. In dual competition, he lost to TCNJ's Luke Reitter by fall and Arcadia's Jacob Blair by decision.

Trokon Kai (3-5) wrestled the most matches for the Eagles, hitting the mat four times. He picked up his first fall of the season over Malik Barkor of Arcadia, but lost his final three matches to Anthony Mucciolo (TCNJ), Menier Colin (TCNJ), and Frost Caden (Arcadia)

Ryan Mansueto (6-2) picked up his team-leading sixth win of the early season with a pin over Barkor in his second match of the day. He dropped his first match by technical fall to TCNJ's Vinnie Santaniello.
