YORK, Pa.— After a break for Thanksgiving, Eastern University Men's Wrestling returned to the mats for a tough test at the New Standard Invitational hosted by York College. After one day of action, the Eagles still have six wrestlers going.
With three wins by decision at 125,
Malik Asfour is leading the way for the Eagles. he earned a spot in the semifinals with a 4-2 decision over No. 9 ranked Matt griffin from TCNJ. Also at 125,
Jackson Orrell is 2-1 on the day still alive in the consolation bracket
Ryan Mansueto is 3-1 and still alive in the consolation bracket at 141, and
Braydon Castillo is 2-1 and still alive at 157.
Nicholas DeLorenzo and
Jonny Beckett have both reached the quarterfinals at 165, and
Darrale Barrett is in the consolation bracket at 174.
