YORK, Pa. - Coming off a solid first day at York yesterday, Eastern Men's Wrestling ran into stiffer competition on Saturday on day two of the New Standard Invitational.
Malik Asfour continued his strong first season at Eastern with a third-place finish in the 125 weight class.
After three wins yesterday, Asfour dropped his first match of the weekend to TCNJ's Joey DeAngelo 3-1 by decision. He finished his day with two straight wins. He beat JWU's Mason Franklin 16-1 by technical fall and won the third place match over JWU's Nico Rivera, 9-3, via decision.
Ryan Mansueto went 2-2 on the day, winning his first two matches over Ithaca's Ben White, 14-6, via major decision, and Marywood's Khalil Boddie, 22-4, by technical fall.
Eastern will be back in action in two weekends at the Wilkes Open on Friday, Dec. 19.s
