LEBANON, Pa. - Eastern Men's Golf opened its spring season on Monday afternoon at the Lebanon Valley Invitational hosted by the Lebanon Country Club. Devin Cooper won his second individual championship of the season and the Eagles placed second with a team score of 318.

Cooper played another superb round in what continues to be a strong senior campaign. The Aldie, Va. native was excellent in all phases of his game, particularly his irons, and tied his personal best with a score of 73. It's the second time that Cooper has carded a 73 this season and the second championship that he has won. He was also the individual champion at the Lion Invitational back in late September.

Cooper finished his round with five birdies and seven pars. His best hole came on 13, where he sank a putt for birdie after an excellent shot from 130 yards out.

Zach Bruecks picked up right where he left off this fall with a score of 75, good for a tie for fifth place. The junior shot a 37 on the back nine, which included three birdies in a row on holes 13, 14, and 15. In total, Bruecks ended his round with four birdies and seven pars. Alexander McGee fired an 84, while Nick DiPietro rounded out the Eagles top four with an 86.

"We had some great progress and perseverance out there today," Eastern Head Coach Samantha Hightower said. "Devin's irons were dialed in, and Zach made three birdies in a row on the back nine. Our season is off to a great start."

Eastern will continue its spring season this weekend at the MAC Spring Preview at The Club at P.B. Dye. The two-day event will take place on Sunday, April 2, and Monday, April 3.
