ANNVILLE, Pa. - A 14-run second frame by the host Dutchmen proved to the difference on Tuesday night as Eastern Baseball dropped a 21-10 decision to MAC Commonwealth foe Lebanon Valley (20-12, 8-3). With the loss, the Eagles fell to 3-8 in MAC Commonwealth play. The Dutchmen offense collected 24 hits, which included 11 in the game-defining second inning and seven for extra bases.
Despite the loss, first-year outfielder
Brian Lang played one of the best games of his young career. The New Castle, De. native recorded a career-high four hits, including his first career triple, and a pair of RBIs on a two-run single.
Garrett Friend continued to swing the bat well with two hits and two RBIs, while
Matt McHale and
Mark Cruser combined for four hits and three RBIs. On the mound,
John Beck was efficient in his three innings of work, allowing just hits and striking out a team-high three batters.
Eastern (10-23, 3-8) will be back home at The Yard on Friday to conclude its season series with Lebanon Valley. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
