ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– The last time the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen visited The Yard was for a non-league game in 2014. In that game, which was nearly exactly eight years ago, the Dutchmen jumped to a 17-4 lead before the Eastern bats got hot. The Eastern bats did get hot, and
Eastern walked-off a 21-18 win on a ninth-inning grand slam from Joe Grato. There was no great comeback today. The LVC bats produced 12 runs on ten hits in the first two innings and built an 18-2 lead on the way to a 23-9 win.
Eastern created runs in six of the nine innings. While the Dutchmen had eight of their 22 hits go for extra bases, all 12 Eastern hits were singles.
Evan Barks had a pair of run-producing hits and 3 RBI's to lead the Eagles.
LVC left-hander Bryce Eberly went five innings to pick up his first win since 2019. Eastern rookie,
Lorenzo Rivera struck out four in two scoreless innings to end the game.
The Eagles will host the York College Spartans in a noon doubleheader at The Yard tomorrow.
