ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Coming off one of the most successful careers in Eastern Men's Golf Program history, Director of Golf Randy Syracuse announced that Nicky Marrollo has joined the Men's Golf staff as an assistant coach.
Marrollo put together an impressive resume while at Eastern. In addition to being named the 2019 MAC Freedom Player-of-the-Year, the Exton, Pa. native was named the MAC Freedom Player-of-the Week seven times, earned All-MAC honors in each of the three seasons where championships were held, and served as a captain in three of his four years with the program.
"It honestly feels great to be back," Marrollo said. "I realized what I wanted to do was build a program and make a name for Eastern. I did as much as I could as a player, but now that I'm a coach, I'm eager to get the program where I envisioned it — a national championship bound team."
"I know the dynamics of the team," he continued. "Most of these guys, I know their games pretty well. I'm excited to be a part of a team I care so much about."
As part of his coaching duties, Marrollo will assist the team with practice planning and, when available, will walk the course with the group to help with hole-to-hole management. Marrollo will also be involved in recruiting, which he has already begun in earnest.
"I believe Nicky will be a great addition to the men's golf program," Syracuse said. "Having competed in the conference for the last four years and being a former conference champion, he knows the ins and outs MAC conference play. I think he will leverage that information and provide great insights to the team as they work their way through events as well as practices."
Marrollo will serve under long-time assistant John Sly.
