Box Score BRYN ATHYN, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Tennis won all six singles matches on the way to an 8-1 non-league win at Bryn Athyn College.
How It Happened:
The Eagles held a 2-1 lead after doubles.
Emma Paugh and
Lauren Good ground out an 8-4 win at first singles and
Emily Stevens and
Cara Degnan earned an 8-4 win at the second doubles spot. Bryn Athyn won the third slot by an 8-5 margin.
Paugh and Good set the tone in singles play. Paugh earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at the top spot and Good earned a 6-1, 6-2 win in the second slot. Degnan claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win at the third spot. Alli Ryan picked up a win without dropping a game at fifth singles and
Nicole Hege won 6-2, 6-0 at the sixth slot.
Stevens had the toughest test of the day. After dropping her opening set 7-6, she bounced back to win the second set by the same score. She won her tiebreaker 7-1. In the deciding super-tiebreaker, she claimed the point with a 10-7 win.
