BETHLEHEM, Pa.– Eastern University Softball dropped a pair of games in miserable weather at Moravian College. The host Greyhounds (23-3) scored in seven of their eight at bats on the way to a pair of run-shortened wins.
The Eagles (6-21) saw their two-game win streak snapped when Moravian jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 12-0 win in the opener. The Eagles managed only three singles in the opener.
Moravian grabbed four runs in the first inning and pulled away to a 9-0 win in the nightcap.
Alyssa Bolger and
Sabrina Thomas had the only two Eastern hits in the game.
"Though it did not show with hits today," Head Coach
Claire Emplit said after the game. "We are doing a better job of putting good swings on balls. It was a really tough day to play, and I am proud of the team for continuing to battle in each at bat."
The Eagles will host King's College in a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Saturday.
