One of those players, Will Welsh, started the rally in what proved to be the Charger's big inning with a screaming double to the opposite field off Eastern starter

Tommy Strazza knocked in
Britton Lawrence with a single through the left side.
The Eagles scratched out a pair of unearned runs in the eighth to answer single Charger run int he top of the inning, and
Tommy Strazza escaped a jam in the top of the ninth with a strike-out-throw-out double-play to end the inning.
Brad Clemons walked to start the ninth and Gorton doubled to right-center with one out to put pressure on. Lawrence walked to load the bases, but after a Robbie Shreck ground ball turned into an out at home, Strazza hit a solid ground ball to third to end the game.
"Our offense will come around," Head Coach
Jed Morris said. "We are starting to see signs, and we just need to get some consistent at bats in. Freddy is starting to drive the ball, and we will find some big hits here soon.
