CENTER VALLEY, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Soccer dropped a 4-1 result at DeSales in a the second-to-last MAC Freedom match of the year for both squads.
Katerina Mouzakitis scored the lone Eastern goal in the loss.
How It Happened:
While DeSales (7-6-2, 4-2 MAC Freedom) had more of the play in the opening half, Eastern was dangerous in the counter attack.
Nicole Weenink had a chance int he seventh minute and another in the 33rd, but both went out for corners.
Adrianna Rowlands made three of her six saves in the first half and was very good controlling her box, and the match went to the half tied at 0-0.
To start the second half, the Eagles struggled to find connections on the soft and wet grass field, and a turnover in the midfield turned into a chance in front of the goal for the Bulldogs. They converted to go up 1-0 in the 56th minute.
The Eagles (6-9-1, 2-3-1 MAC Freedom) had a chance to knot the score on a restart from deep in the 60th minute, but
Amy Radcliffe's header was denied, and no Eastern player was able to convert the rebound chance. Seconds later, the Bulldogs doubled their lead on a transition goal.
The Bulldogs stretched their lead with goals in the 74th and 84th minutes before Mouzakitis volleyed home a
Zoe Galvin corner early in the 89th minute. It is her first career goal.
Coach West Says:
"I thought we played a good first half. We limited chances and created. We didn't play poorly in the second half, but we were undisciplined with moving our feet as one v. one defenders, and they made us pay. We still created chances in the second half but we had too many defensive breakdowns."

The Eagles are at Franklin and Marshall College midweek before hosting King's in what could set up as a game for the 4th seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament. Eastern beat King's 2-0 last fall.
