Box Score CENTER VALLEY, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Tennis dropped a 6-3 heartbreaker in MAC Freedom Women's Tennis at DeSales University. The host Bulldogs won the final three matches of the day to claim the win and an important tiebreaker in the league standings.
Both teams won three of the first six matches off the courts.
Lauren Good combined with
Shannon Jugler to earn an 8-2 win at second doubles and then picked up an impressive 6-3,6-2 win at second singles.
Olivia Weaver won 6-3, 6-4 at fifth singles. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, won two doubles matches and a two-set match at fourth singles.
Emma Paugh,
Laura Thomas, and
Emily Thomas were on the court trying to win two singles matches.
The host Bulldogs earned wins in each of the matches. Paugh dropped a 7-6, 7-6 decision at the top spot, and
Emily Thomas fell in three sets after winning the opening set 7-5.
Laura Thomas dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the third singles spot.
The Eagles (6-5, 3-2 MAC Freedom) will wrap up the regular season at Misericordia on Saturday. If they win, they will earn the third seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament.
