WILKES-BARRE, Pa.– For the second time in a week, Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a close road game in the rain. The Eagles came into today's game at King's College needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The host Monarchs led 9-3 with five minutes left in the first half. The Eagles chipped away at the King's' lead throughout the second half, but the hosts held on for a 15-13 win.
The Monarchs had the advantage in possession through the first half and converted on 10 of their 16 shots for the five-goal halftime lead.
Liz Brennan had four of Eastern's five first half goals. The Monarchs, meanwhile had five different goal scorers in the period.

Julie Haggan tucked away her second of three on the afternoon. The goal-streak stopped at two, and the teams again traded goals until the final three minutes of the game.
"Our second half was great," Head Coach
Kim Campbell said after the game. "I saw some big defensive blocks, midfield transitions and teamwork to get shots off in front of the cage. Ultimately, Kings converted two more than us. I have a lot of respect for the hard work the King's players put into this game."
With six goals today,
Liz Brennan now has 57 for the season.
Anna Charlebois scored four second-half goals. The senior midfielder now has 189 goals in her career.
"This fourth loss is conference is gut-wrenching," Campbell said after the game. "We desire as a team to generate enough success to win. Despite the loss, I am proud of the continual growth this team shows and their mental toughness to work a whole 60 minutes."
The Eagles play Wilkes at home on Tuesday and will wrap up their season at Delaware Valley next Saturday.
