Box Score ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Women's Tennis cruised to a 9-0 victory over visiting Cairn University on Wednesday afternoon. All six Eastern players won in straight sets with six of those victories coming by shutout. 

"Overall it was a great day for us," said Head Coach Mark Spangler. "Everyone played well from start to finish to help us earn this victory." 

Kelly Archibald and Laura Thomas won the first doubles match 8-4 while Emma Paugh and Amanda Riiff cruised to a victory in the second doubles match 8-1. Leslie Henry and Hannah Reed posted the first shutout victory of the day winning the third doubles match 8-0. 

Paugh then cruised to a win in the first singles match winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Laura Thomas and Henry each won their singles matches posting shutouts in at least one set winning by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively. 

Reed rounded out the singles matches claiming a victory in the sixth singles match 6-0, 6-0. 

"We play a tough opponent on Saturday in FDU-Florham, so today was a confidence booster," concluded Spangler. "If we can play like we did today we will be a hard team to beat."

Eastern hosts FDU-Florham on Saturday at 1 pm.
