PURCHASE N.Y. – Eastern Men's Lacrosse earned its fourth win in a row defeating host Manhattanville College on Wednesday night by the final score of 17-7. Ten different players tallied goals in the game to help the Eagles earn their fourth MAC Freedom victory.
Eastern opened the game with a seven-goal first quarter to take an early 7-0 advantage.
Mark Buannic led all Eastern players with four goals while goalies
Jameal Hadeed and
Austin Mutter combined for 11 saves on the night.
After a nearly scoreless opening six minutes
Bryan Goetz netted his first of three goals for the evening when he finished off a Buannic pass to give Eastern (9-5, 4-0 MAC Freedom) the 1-0 lead. Already leading 4-0 the Eagles would score three goals over the final five minutes of the opening quarter to stretch its lead all the way to seven.
Ryan Mitchell extended the lead to 5-0 when he took the ball down field himself to score his second goal of the season going coast to coast. Goetz netted his second of the quarter just over a minute later to make it 6-0. Buannic closed out the scoring spree when he netted his first of the game with eight seconds left to go in the quarter.
The Eastern defense did their part throughout the first half not allowing the Valiants (4-9, 1-3 MAC Freedom) to score until the second quarter. Hadeed was solid in the first half of play tallying four saves in each quarter to help the Eagles take an 8-1 advantage into the locker rooms.
After Manhattanville had scored two straight goals to open the second half, the Eastern offense closed out all hope of a comeback tacking on five straight goals to stretch its lead to 13-3. Buannic tallied back-to-back goals to close out the scoring spree and third quarter netting both goals less than a minute apart.

Jake Billera each tallied goals in the third quarter as well to help give the Eagles a ten-goal advantage heading into the fourth.
The teams would each tally four goals apiece in the final quarter of play to make the score final at 17-7.
Eastern travels to King's College on April 23rd for a 7 pm start.
