Box Score ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Women's Tennis dropped its first match since falling to Adrian back on February 29th falling to visiting Wilkes 8-1 on Saturday afternoon. 

The Eagles battled in the doubles matches and took one point from the Colonels winning the second doubles match. Emma Paugh and Amanda Riiff fought hard to earn an 8-6 decision. The win was Paugh and Riiff's eighth straight and kept the duo undefeated for the season. 

Paugh would turn in a solid effort in her singles match as well but came up just short as she fell in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Paugh falls to 7-3 overall on the season in singles with the loss.

Laura Thomas also fought hard in her singles match turning in a great performance in the first set that would come up just short of a win as well. Thomas fell in straight sets but battled hard in the first set before falling 7-5. She would go on to lose the second set by the final of 6-2. 

The loss drops Eastern to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in MAC Freedom play. It also snaps the Eagles seven-match win streak.   

Eastern hosts Hood College on April 21st for a 3 pm match.
