HAVERFORD, Pa.--Eastern Women's Soccer salvaged Sunday afternoon's tournament match against Arcadia University with a goal in the 88th minute.
Eastern trailed the Knights 1-0 with less than three minutes remaining in the game when sophomore forward Victoria Graham scored to tie the game.
Neither team found the net through overtime and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Head coach Dan Mouw said it was great to get a result from that game after struggling to score for almost all of regulation. "We didn't have our 'A' game today," he said, "But we kept battling and finally found something."
Freshman Emily Cole charged in between two Arcadia backs to win a 50-50 ball and served a ball towards the goal from the right edge of the box. Arcadia's goalie dove and punched the ball towards the penalty mark. Victoria Graham was already running towards the ball and finished the shot before the goalie could get back up.
Coach Mouw said, "We're going to have to play better down the road, but it was good to see some contributions from our freshmen and sophomores today."
Eagles' goalie Elayna Simpson recorded 10 saves in the draw.
The Eagles play at Dickinson College on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
