Women's Basketball Stopped At Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa.--Eastern Women's Basketball surrendered a 69-49 loss at Cabrini College in the Battle of Eagle Road on Tuesday night.

Eastern's Meghan Nowak led the Eagles with her second double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Nowak was held to one point in the first half, making the Eagles' first point on a free throw at 15:49. Nowak exited for the remainder of the first half at 10:30 with the Eagles trailing 19-1. The Eagles made their first field goal at the 10-minute mark on a shot by sophomore Kaitlyn Dougherty.

Eastern trailed 39-22 at halftime and were plagued by turnovers and offensive rebounds allowed the entire game.

The Eagles committed 24 turnovers and gave up 22 offensive rebounds. Cabrini scored 24 points directly off Eastern turnovers and outscored Eastern in the paint 42-16.

Cabrini had three players with double-digit points. Megan Decker scored 12, Brittany Sandone added 15 and Amanda Keyes led the way with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Cabrini's Colleen Stewart added 16 rebounds.

Eastern's Kaleigh Boreman and Tori Grossi each added nine points.

On Sunday at 2 p.m., the Eagles (1-2) take on University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a Division I opponent.
