Kim Campbell scored early in Eastern's home non-league game against Kenyon College, but the Eagles could not build on the lead and needed a late goal from Olivia Derr to earn a 2-1 win.
In the fourth minute, Campbell converted her eighth goal of the year on a nice pass from Lindsay Moyer. Eastern held an 8-4 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in penalty corners for the first half. Eastern Head Coach Camrin Azzarano expressed frustration at her team's inability to capitalize on numerous first half chances, but the Eagles held a 1-0 edge at the break.
The visiting Ladies knotted the score in the 47th minute on a Kelly Adams goal. The Eagles responded to the Kenyon goal. The Eastern attack came to life. They fired 14 second-half shots and earned 13 penalty corners. That pressure finally resulted in a goal in the 59th minute when Moyer located Derr in front of the cage for her second goal of the year.
Azzarano said of the day, "They were a very good team, but we really struggled to convert our chances. The good news is that we created 20 corners, but we will need to get more consistent in turning those into goals."
Kelly Hermann made four saves to earn the win for the Eagles. Kenyon's Karen Thompson turned away twelve Eastern shots in the loss.
