Dan Mouw

Dan Mouw began coaching at Eastern in 2002. In that time, his teams have won four conference championships and reached two more conference championship games. He has coached three All-Americans and had seven players named to NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region squads. Eastern Women's Soccer also had a stretch of six straight years where it posted the highest team GPA in the department.

He has taken three different squads to Africa and has found that those trips have been very valuable in bringing teams together and to opening the eyes of players to the bigger world.

In 2014, Mouw earned his 150th win as a college coach.

Eastern's 2012 team lost a 1-0 overtime decision in the Freedom Conference Championship match. The Eagles allowed only five goals in the final 13 games and senior goalkeeper Alysia Goodman was selected to the NSCAA All-America Second Team. She became the third player in program history to earn All-America honors.

Mouw's 2011 squad earned a Freedom Conference Championship with a 3-0 win at Misericordia University. The Eagles fell in penalty kicks to SUNY-Cortland in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The first round exit was a first for the Eagles. They have a 5-3-1 mark in NCAA Tournament play.
Midway through 2009, Mouw earned his 100th win.

He has earned Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2003 and 2007, and his players have earned recognition at the Conference, Regional, and National levels.

In 2008, the team earned a Freedom Conference Championship in their first year in the League and advanced to the National Quarterfinals in the NCAA Tournament. The Elite Eight appearance was a first for any Eastern University team. The Eagles finished with a 17-6 mark on the year. The Eagles accomplished this while playing an outstanding schedule that included games against several top 10 opponents. They were ranked 13th in the final NSCAA National Poll.

In that year, Eastern Women's Soccer went unbeaten at home with a 32-1 scoring margin on their home turf. Seven Eastern players earned All-Conference Recognition and Ashley Hackman and Steffie Sauder were both named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team, which recognized 11 women's soccer players from all the Colleges and Universities in the Philadelphia Area for their work on the field and in the classroom. Hackman earned her second straight Conference Player of the Year and All-America Honor. In addition, Hackman was selected as the Southeast Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Women's Soccer Player of the Year.

His 2007 squad enjoyed a breakthrough season. The 19-4 Eagles advanced to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the PAC Championship with an undefeated regular season and a pair of shutout wins in the Conference Playoffs. The Eastern Women outscored their opponents 81-16 through the year. The Eagles finished the year in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings and had two players recognized as 1st Team All-Mid-Atlantic Regional players. In addition, Ashley Hackman became the first women's soccer player in program history to earn All-America recognition.

Mouw came to Eastern from the Chicago area where he was a successful high school and club coach for nine years. A 1993 graduate of Taylor University, Mouw played his collegiate soccer for both Taylor and Wheaton College. He came to Eastern for the chance to work in a Christian College with a distinctive mission and tremendous opportunity for growth.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Eastern, Mouw serves as an Assistant Athletic Director. Prior to taking on those responsibilities he served as Easern's Sports Information Director.

The second of six children, he lives in Philadelphia in the same neighborhood with two of his sisters and eight nieces and nephews. His younger brother and sister have both worked as college coaches. In the spring of 2015, he completed his second marathon.
