Kyle Stramara

  • Title
    Associate Head Coach
Kyle Stramara joined Eastern University staff in 2019. He became a full-time assistant before the 21-22 season and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in the summer of 2022.

In the 2023-24 season, Eastern University Men's Basketbal claimed the program's first conference championship. In a year where the MAC Commonwealth put three teams into the NCAA Tournament, Eastern had to win a pair of road games against NCAA Tournament teams to claim the program's first title. After pulling away to an 86-72 win at Hood College in the Semifinals, the Eagles erased a 15-point first half deficit and raced to a 98-69 win over a 13th-ranked Widener squad that had handed them two losses in the league.

In another first, the Eagles beat TCNJ in their NCAA Tournament opener.  The 21 wins matches the team's total from the 2021-'22. Jaron Fairweather and Zubair Lee each earned First-Team All-MAC Commonwealth Honors and Kaeshawn Ward earned second-team honors. Both Ward and Fairweather reached the 1,000 point mark in the season, and Lee was named MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year.

With Lee protecting the rim, the 2023-24 team finished 5th in the nation in blocked shots.

Stramara helped recruit a talented group for the 2022-23 season. The Eagles topped York 70-64 in the opening round game of the MAC Commonwealth Tournament before falling 75-70 at top-seeded Alvernia. The 18 wins was the second-most wins by an Eastern team since the program joined Division III in 1992-93. Zubair Lee was named MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year.

In his first season as a full-time assistant Stramara helped the Eagles to their best season since the University joined NCAA Division III. The Eagles won 21 games and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. As the program's recruiting coordinator, Stramara has been very influential in bringing in a very talented group of new players.

On the court, Stramara has helped the Eagles to be one of the most efficient offensive teams in the region. Eastern shot a MAC-best 46% from the floor in 21-22.

Before coming to Eastern, he served as the District Manager for Push The Rock Harrisburg and oversaw the Prison Ministry for that organization in Pennsylvania.  Push The Rock is a global sports ministry that uses the avenue of sports to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With Push the Rock, Kyle led teams to Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, and Brazil.

He played Varsity Basketball at Blue Mountain High School (Pa.) where his teams made State Playoff runs all three seasons. He earned a History degree from West Chester University.  After college, he coached Varsity Basketball at Downingtown West High School, Emmaus High School, and West Shore Christian Academy. During the 2018-2019 season, Kyle spent a year as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Lancaster Bible College.

Stramara completed his MBA at Eastern.
