ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference today released weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 27. Senior libero Grace Cooper earned her first MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week honor following a strong weekend of play on Eastern's back line in Washington D.C.

Cooper led the Eagles with 48 digs while also collecting 16 assists on Friday and Saturday as Eastern finished 2-1 at the Worthington Classic at Gallaudet. She finished with 24 digs and five assists against Mount Union on Saturday, before recording 24 digs and 11 assists in wins over Arcadia and the host Bison. Her eight assists against Arcadia were a career-best.

For Cooper, it is the first MAC Commonwealth DPOTW honor of her career and the first weekly accolade for Eastern Women's Volleyball this fall.

Eastern will be back in action on Thursday for a match against Lancaster Bible College. Due to ongoing repairs on Eastern's gym, the match will be played at the Mirenda Center on the campus of Neumann University. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
