ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—
Karlee Howard scored once in each half and Eastern University Field Hockey picked up its second clean sheet of the year with a 2-0 win over the visiting Delaware Valley University Aggies in non-league action. The Eagles, (4-0) finished with a 24-to-6 edge in shots and secured the programs first four-game winning streak since 2105.
Angelina Catania made three stops to secure the shutout.
Though Eastern had two penalty corners in the opening moments, the Aggies (2-1) controlled action for a good stretch of the game. The momentum changed in the 13th minute. Howard stole a ball in the offensive end and drove into the circle. The senior forward slipped through defenders and fired a reverse-stick effort on goal. Though Delaware Valley goalie Gracynn Shutt got pads to the ball, the shot had enough power to slip across the goal line before a pair of retreating Aggie defenders could clear it.
The Eagles had all of the ball in the second quarter. Shutt made 10 stops and the Aggie defense fended off six penalty corners to keep the edge at a single score.
Four and a half minutes into the second half, Howard gave the Eagles some cushion. Bynne Miller made the play with a move up the left side and a pass to Howard at the edge of the circle. Howard split a pair of defenders and worked her way inside before slotting the ball home for her fifth goal of the year and 20th career tally.

Megan Possinger controlling the middle of the field, the Eagles kept the ball in the Aggie end until the visitors made a push in the final four minutes. The Aggies had three of their four penalty corners in the final four minutes of the game. Catania made two of her three stops in that same stretch.
The Eagles are at Drew on Wednesday night. The Rangers won last year's match up in overtime.
