Frantz and Kozlusky Earn Academic Honor

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.— After all the grades from the year have been tallied, Heidi Birtwistle, Eastern University's Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student Athlete Development, today announced the two senior student-athletes who finished their careers in 2025-26 with the highest total Grade Point Averages. Kara Frantz from Field Hockey and Thomas Kozlusky from Baseball are honored as this year's Senior Scholar-Athlete winners.

To be considered for recognition, a student must have competed in his or her senior season and at least three years in a sport and spent their entire academic career at Eastern. 

Frantz started 68 games in the midfield for Eastern Field Hockey and helped the Eagles to eight wins this past fall. An accounting major from Womelsdorf, Pa., Frantz scored twice and added four assists and a defensive save. She earned Honorable Mention All-MAC Commonwealth recognition in 2024. 

Kozlusky stole 30 bases and earned First-Team All-MAC Commonwealth Honors as an outfielder this spring. He moved into the starting line--up midway through his sophomore campaign and finished his career with 114 hits and 93 runs scored. His numbers for average, steals, and RBIs increased in each of his four seasons. He is a Math major ithe a Pre-Engineering concentration from Quakertown. Including 75 starts the last two years, Kozlusky played in 107 games and finished with a .321 average.
