ASTON, Pa. - Eastern Women's Tennis battled Neumann from start to finish but came out on the losing end in a 4-3 loss to the Knights on Thursday.
Sarah Mower,
Kiley McHugh, and
Kayleigh Achenbach all earned wins in singles play, but the Eagles dropped close matches at No. 2 doubles and No. 1 singles.
Mower earned her fourth win of the season with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kayleigh DelleVecchi. McHugh picked up win No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Jane Gorman at No. 4 singles. Achenbach also earned her second win, 6-3, 6-1 over Lyndsie Crawford.
Mary Brusstar played Molly McGee to a tiebreaker set, but McGee came away with the win 5-7, 6-4, 10-1. Brusstar and
Lily Aldrich played a competitive match at No. 2 doubles, but came up short in a 7-5 loss to Molly and Casey McGee.
Eastern will be back in action at home against Rowan College of Gloucester County on Saturday. First serve is set for 12 noon.
