Women's Lacrosse Falls to Neumann

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.— A short-handed Eastern University women's lacrosse side struggled to clear against an aggressive Neumann University ride, and the Eagles dropped a 17-3 result in non-league action. Morgan Wallace scored twice for the Eagles. 

The Knights (2-3) lost the opening draw but forced a turnover and converted in the first minute. The Knights won the next nine draws in the first quarter. Tori Benjamin made six saves in the period, but the Eagles struggled to clear.  Neumann led 6-0 before the midpoint of the quarter. 

Paige Robinson scored to stop the run, but the Knights added two more goals before the end of the quarter. The lead grew to 13-1 before the Eagles took advantage of an extra-player chance late in the half. Mrgan Wallace drove through traffic to dunk home her first of two on the day. 

Each team scored once in the third quarter before the Knights put away three goals in the fourth for the final scores. 

Benjamin finished with 11 saves in goal.

The Eagles (1-4) will travel to Baltimore for a game against Notre Dame University of Maryland on Saturday.
