Volleyball Outlasts Arcadia for MAC Win

GLENSIDE, Pa— Eastern University Men's Volleyball hit .353 in a 15-10 win in the fifth set to pick up a huge Middle Atlantic Conference win. Wokocha had five kills on eight swings and the Eagles broke open a 21-21 tie with Ronan Landis serving to win the first set 25-22. Broussard powered home the final kill for a sideout point.

After the Knights won the second set 25-17, the Eagles bounced back with a hard-fought 26-24 win in the third. Connor tucholski delivered a clutch kill to fight off set point at 24-23 and then combined with Landon Mattiace for a block to give the Eagles a chance to go up 2-1. An Arcadia attack error with Broussard serving was enough and the Eagles went up 2-1. Wokocha had five more kills in the third set.

Arcadia grabbed momentum back with a decisive 25-14 win in the fourth and were up 8-7 at the change in the fifth set. Landis came up with a solo block to tie the score at 8-8, and Kino Tuitupou came on to serve for a point. After the teams traded sideouts, Landis served for four-straight points for a 14-9 lead. Landis started the burst with an ace, and Tucholski delivered a pair of kills in the critical run.

After an Arcadia sideout, the Eagles won on a final sideout.

Landis had 41 assists and eight digs, Colby Arvesen finished with 14 kills, and Tucholski had eight kills and seven blocks.

The win in five is the first this year for the Eagles (10-12, 2-2). They had dropped the previous four five-set decisions. They are at Immaculata on Thursday before closing the year with four league matches in their final four dates of competition.
