ANNVILLE, Pa.— Eastern University Men's Tennis (3-1) opened its spring season with a 6-1 loss at Lebanon Valley that was in a lot of ways tighter than the final score.
Toby Sallee picked up the only point for the Eagles with a 6-1, 6-3 win at the sixth doubles spot.
Including a 7-5 win at the top spot, the host Dutchmen (7-6) won all three doubles matches to pick up the first point of the match. The Eagles won games in every dropped set of the match, and Jared Goff fell 7-6, 4-6 with a 7-5 tiebreak loss in the opener.
The Eagles will be at Muhlenberg on Tuesday before opening the home portion of the spring with a Thursday match against Lancaster Bible.
