Men's Lacrosse Falls at Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Eastern University Men's Lacrosse struggled to generate offense early and dropped a non-league test. The host Cardinals outscored the Eagles 8-1 in the third and 12-2 in the second half to pull away to a 19-6 win. 

The two sides traded goals early with Brett Gougler and Maxwell Forrey each answering Catholic tallies in the opening eight minutes. The host scored twice in the final seventy seconds of the first quarter to go up for good. 

Gougler, who finished with three goals scored the first and fourth goals of the second quarter, but the other three goals came from the home team. Both teams took 17 shots in the first half. 

Catholic scored four times in the first six minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. Frankie Fanelli and Forrey each scored in the second half. 

The Eagles will host St. Mary's College of Maryland next Saturday.
