LANCASTER, Pa. -
Foday Koroma set a new program record in the Weight Throw and
Elijah McCullough had a strong day of jumps as Eastern Men's Track and Field competed in the Mini Dip Invitational at Franklin and Marshall on Saturday.
Koroma, who held the Weight Throw record heading into Saturday, set a new program record on his third throw of the day. The junior completed a toss of 14.24m, close to a full meter ahead of his previous record which set at Haverford last winter.
McCullough placed first in the both the Long Jump and the Triple Jump. He move into third in program history in the Long Jump with a new PR of 13.23m, before a 13.48m leap in the Triple Jump.
Jeric Lewis also moved to sixth in the Long Jump with a PR jump of 6.55m.
In the Shot Put,
Jeffrey Robbins also recorded a new PR, placing sixth with a throw of 13.23m. He still sits at second in program history under his teammate
Derrick Swain.
On the track,
Jahari Brown and
James Ugorji placed first (7.01) and second (7.11) in the 60m, respectively, and
Ian Hopkins took home another first place finish in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.48. Ugorji also finished first in the 200m with a time of 22.84.
Eastern will be back in action next weekend for the Widener Indoor Classic.
