NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today announced Weekly Honors for the Week ending Feb. 22. With a dominating performance at 124 pounds at the Region 2 meet, Eastern University's Savannah WItt picked up her second MAC Wrestler of the Week Award.
Witt (28-1), a first-year from Kintnersville, Pa., swept her three matches at the event to punch her ticket to the National Championships. She is one of five Eagles to earn a spot in the first-ever NCAA Championships.
After winning by technical fall in her first round match-up, Witt secured her first win by decision on the year with a 7-2 win over a hometown opponent in the semifinals. It is the only time this year, Witt has gone the full six minutes in a match.
She closed out her championships with a win by technical fall over an opponent from Lock Haven.
The Eagles finished behind Lehigh and East Stroudsburg in the Championships.

Olivia Kinder, and
Jesenia Camargo will wrestle again at the National Meet in Coral Springs, Iowa.
