PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Four Eagles qualified for the 2026 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and another moved up on the top-10 list in the 400m as Eastern Men's Track and Field competed at the Widener Schuylkill Showdown this past weekend.
Two of those qualifiers came in the 800m.
Robert Walton finished second with a season-best time of 1:54.74, and first-year
Joshua Knox-Wagner ran a PR of 1:59.69.
Elijah McCullough qualified in the Triple Jump with a distance of 13.57m, and
Keyon Jones qualified in the High Jump with a second-place finish at 1.88m.Â
First-year
Christian Scales moved into the No. 2 spot in the 400m, running a season-best time of 50.92. He sits just under Jhaunell Burnside, who set the record in 2018 with a time of 50.66.Â
Fellow first-year
Jahari Brown PR'd again in the 60m, solidifying his hold of third in the top-10 ranks with a time of 7.01. Brown is tied for fifth in the MAC in the event with teammate
James Ugorji. To round out the PR's,
Jeffrey Robbins finished with a throw of 13.15m in the Shot Put, and
Elijah McCullough recorded a 6.64m leap in the Long Jump, his best finish in the event since the 2024 Indoor MAC Championships. The jump vaulted him to fourth in program history and third in the MAC this indoor season.Â
Ian Hopkins ran his second-best time of the season in the 60m Hurdles at 8.27, while Jones finished fourth with a time of 8.49. Hopkins and Jones rank 1-2 in the MAC for the event.
Jeric Lewis had another strong showing in the Triple Jump as well, finishing fifth at 14.31m.Â
Eastern will be back at F&M next weekend for the third time this winter, competing in the Mini-Dip Invitational.Â
