Howard Claims MAC Weekly Honor

NEWTOWN, pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference office this morning announced weekly honor for the week ending Oct. 18. With two goals and an assist in a 2-0 week, Eastern forward Karlee Howard earned MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week honors. The senior from Oley Valley, Pa. capped her week with an overtime game-winner at Neumann University on Saturday.

While she picked up just one goal, Howard was involved in all three scores in Eastern's come-from-behind victory at Neumann. In the 54th minute, she earned a the circle and fired a pass across the face of goal. Ryhanna Ridgeway redirected the serve and CJ Summa tucked it home to close the Neumann lead to 2-1. Four minutes later, Howard split a pair of Neumann defenders at the edge of the circle and earned a penalty corner that turned into the equalizing goal. Five minutes into overtime, she guided home a Summa pass for her 10th goal of the year.

In Eastern's 3-0 win at Albright, one of her first-half shots turned into a Summa penalty stroke that stood as the game-winner. Shortly after halftime, she carved through the Albright and buried a reverse-stick smash for a 2-0 lead. She picked up an assist on the third goal of the day.

The rally at Neumann gave the Eagles their first 2-0 week in the league since 2018. Eastern was in the MAC Freedom in 2018.

Howard also earned MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week recognition in September of 2024. She has 25 goals and 15 assists in 49 career games. The Eagles will host Widener on Wednesday and will travel to Hood on Saturday.
