Flag Football Wins Two in Regular-Season Finale

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Flag Football used dominating defense and solid offense to secure a pair of wins on the final day of the regular season. The Eastern defense scored twice in a 19-0 win over Immaculata University in the opener and held the Holy Family Tigers to 139 total yards in a 32-6 win in the nightcap. With the sweep the Eagles (13-3, 9-3) locked up the second seed in the upcoming Atlantic East Conference Tournament.

After neither team scored in the first quarter, the Mighty Macs were threatening after a big play put them deep in Eastern territory in the second. Dominique Geiger picked off a pass and returned it 60 yards for a go-ahead score. After the Eagles converted the extra point, the Mighty Macs threw over the middle to try to get momentum back. Jeriyah Johnson read the pass perfectly and ran through traffic for a second defensive score.

The Eagles found offensive rhythm in the third quarter with three straight completions from Kira Green. The rookie quarterback connected with Kyla Massenburg and Johnson before throwing a 19-yard touchdown to Damiyae Moyet in the corner of the end zone. Moyet went up over top of a pair of Immaculata defenders to make the grab. She finishes the regular season with eight touchdown grabs and over 600 receiving yards.
