GRANTHAM, Pa. - In its return to conference action on Tuesday, Eastern Women's Tennis dropped a 7-0 decision to an experienced Messiah Falcons squad. It is the fourth straight season that the Eagles (3-9, 1-2) failed to score a point against their conference foes.
Messiah began the afternoon by winning all three doubles matches.
Kayleigh Achenbach and
Sarah Behm played a competitive match at No. 3 doubles, but ultimately lost 6-4.
In singles play, the Eagles managed to win just eight games.
Anisah Smith battled at No. 3 singles, but dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Messiah's Bella Heckman. Achenbach also took three games at No. 5 singles, but fell 6-1, 6-2.
Eastern will return to action at home this coming Thursday in a non-conference showdown with Muhlenberg. First serve is set for 4:00 pm.
