ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Eastern Women's Tennis earned its fourth win of the season on Thursday night with a 5-2 win over the Muhlenberg Mules at the EU Tennis Courts. The Eagles won the doubles points with a clean sweep at No. 1 doubles, and

Anisah Smith, and
Rhyan Metzger all earned wins in their singles matches to lift the Eagles to victory.
After Eastern won its first doubles match via forfeit, the team of Gruber and Smith earned a clean 6-0 win to secure the doubles point for the Eagles. The win lifted the duo to a 4-4 mark at No. 1 doubles this season.
In singles play, after the Eagles again earned a point on a forfeit,
Rhyan Metzger gave the Eagles their third point with an 0-6, 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles. Metzger bounced back from a first game loss, controlling the match the rest of the way to earn her third win of the year.
Gruber picked up her second win at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-4, 6-4 triumph, and clinching the win for the Eagles in the process. Smith put the icing on the cake, rebounding from a tiebreaker loss in the opening game to win the match 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 10-6. For Smith, it was her team-leading fifth win of the season.
Eastern returns to conference play this coming Wednesday where it will host the Albright Lions. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
