ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In non-conference action against DeSales on Wednesday, Eastern Women's Tennis dropped a 5-2 decision to the Bulldogs.
Anisah Smith won her fourth match at No. 4 singles in the last two weeks, continuing her recent strong success.
At doubles,
Kayleigh Achenbach and Sarah Beam claimed a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles, but DeSales took 6-1 and 6-4 wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles to claim the doubles point.
Smith, after winning three matches last week, claimed Eastern's first point of the night at No. 4 singles, winning over Tara Clark 6-2, 6-2.
Kiley McHugh recorded Eastern's second point with an 8-2 win at No. 6 singles.
Trinity Gruber played a competitive match at No. 1 singles, but dropped a first set tiebreaker 7-6 (7-5) before falling in the second set 6-0.
Eastern returns to conference play on Saturday against Stevenson. First serve is set for 2:30 pm.
