League of Legends Season Ends with Pair of Losses

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In back-to-back days earlier this week, Eastern League of Legends' season came to an end with a pair of defeats. The Eagles dropped an intense 2-1 contest to New England Institute of Technology on Monday, before ending its season with a 2-0 loss to Holy Cross.

On Monday, the series was a true test of endurance and skill, with both teams trading victories in a back-and-forth slugfest that kept viewers on the edge of their seats. A shining light in the series was top laner Daniel Ruley, who delivered an exceptional performance on his Gwen pick.

"Ruley was a dominant force in the top lane, consistently securing crucial farm, applying relentless pressure to towers, and seamlessly transitioning into team fights and objective control," Eastern Head Coach Joshua Franklin said. "His consistent impact throughout the series made him the clear standout player for the Eagles."

On Tuesday, while the series scoreline suggests a dominant victory for Holy Cross, the games were deceptively close, with the Eagles narrowly missing out on crucial opportunities that would have kept their playoff hopes alive.

Despite their best efforts, the Eagles were unable to overcome Holy Cross's strong performance, resulting in a disappointing end to their regular season. This loss marks the end of the line for the Eastern Eagles League of Legends team this semester.

"While the season may not have unfolded as they had hoped, the team remains determined to learn from their experiences and return next semester with renewed vigor," Franklin continued. "The Eagles are committed to refining their strategies and strengthening their teamwork, aiming to compete for a championship title in the future."
