WESTMINSTER, Md. - Eastern Women's Basketball faced a tough test on Saturday against the undefeated McDaniel Green Terror. The Eagles were outscored 16-3 in the first quarter and shot just 11-of-43 in the contest in an eventual 73-38 loss.
After an early 2-2 tie in the opening frame, McDaniel outscored Eastern 14-1 in the final 8:18 of the frame. Eastern made just one field goal in the first quarter. Eastern outscored McDaniel 16-15 in the second quarter, but the first quarter shooting and scoring woes proved too much to overcome. McDaniel led by double-digits the rest of the way, highlighted by a 27-point fourth quarter.
Senior guard
Jeriyah Johnson was the lone Eagle to finish in double figures, scoring 20 points and knocking down both of Eastern's three-pointers. First-year center
Tychelle Gordon scored six points off the bench and added a team-high seven rebounds.
Eastern (2-4) returns to The NEST on Tuesday to take on Bryn Mawr before Thanksgiving Break. Opening tip is set for 6:00 pm.
