ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Tennis opened the 24-25 season with a 6-3 non-league loss to the visiting Arcadia University Knights. The Eagles claimed forfeit wins in two singles matches and a doubles match against the short-handed Knights.
Anisah Smith won the opening set in her no. 2 singles match, but she lost a 10-8 tiebreaker to drop the match.
Head Coach
Harrison Bitzberger was encouraged by his team's first outing of the year.
"It was our first match, " He added "for several of the players it was their first match at a position or in college tennis. We will continue to get better as we have more practice time in coming weeks."
The Eagles will have two weeks to prepare for their next match of the fall at Kutztown.
