ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– On the final day of classes for the semester, Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a MAC Commonwealth game to a visiting Widner University Pride team that was looking to secure a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament. The visiting Pride scored eight times int he first quarter and pulled away to an 18-1 win. Emerson Shauger scored the lone goal of the day for the Eagles.

The Pride (8-8, 4-2) used a big advantage in the draw circle early on to build an 11-1 edge in first-quarter shots. Jordana Fredo made a pair of stops, and the Eagles forced five turnovers, but they struggled to clear their defensive zone and spent much of the period on defense. 

Shauger scored her 21st goal on a free-position shot in the fourth quarter. She needs three points on Saturday to reach 100 for her career. Teresa Gailey finished with a team-best four draw controls and three ground balls. 

Eastern hosts Hood at noon on Saturday.
