FREDERICK, Md. - On Saturday, Eastern Women's Tennis dropped it third conference matchup of the season in a 9-0 loss to Hood College. The Eagles battled, but were unable to secure any points.
In doubles play, the No. 3 team of
Grace Schriever and
Mercedes Lohmann, who have been Eastern's most consistent duo, fell to Hood's Georgia Falzone and Samantha Huffer 8-5.
Rhyan Metzger and
Anisah Smith both forced a tiebreaker in their second sets at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, but both lost 7-5 in the tiebreaker round.Â
At No. 5 singles, Schriever, after losing the first set, forced a third with a 6-2 in set two, but dropped the final set 10-5.Â
Eastern (3-8, 0-3) will be back in St. Davids on Tuesday for a conference matchup against Messiah. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 pm.Â
