ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In its conference home opener on Wednesday, Eastern Women's Tennis dropped a 7-2 decision to the Alvernia Golden Wolves. First-year Grace Schreiver had a strong day for the Eagles, recording her second singles and third doubles win of the season.

In doubles play, Schreiver and senior Mercedes Lohmann picked up the Eagles' first win with an 8-6 victory over Noelle De Magistris and Sarah Mies. With the win, the duo improved to 3-3.

Schreiber also recorded Eastern's second victory at No. 5 singles after a fierce battle with Mies. After winning the first set 6-4, the West Creek, N.J. native earned a hard-fought, 8-6 victory via the tiebreaker. With the victory, Schriever improved to 1-1 in conference play.

Eastern (3-7, 0-2) returns to conference action this coming Saturday at Hood. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
