GLENSIDE, Pa.– Eastern University Men's Lacrosse dropped a pair of matches at Arcadia University on Saturday. The Eagles (10-15, 2-4) dropped a three-set decision in a MAC contest against the hosts before falling in four to Drew University in a non-league test. Including his team-best 10 kills against Arcadia,
Max Bagileo had 19 kills to lead the Eastern attack on the day.
In the match against Arcadia, the Eagles played with the host Knights early and were tied at 19 in the opening set. The Eagles could only muster a pair of
Rodney Quarles kills over the next eight points and fell 25-21. Bagileo had six kills on seven swings and the Eastern offense hit .458 in the first set.
The offense went quiet in the second set. The Knights built a 9-2 lead early and held the Eagles to only six kills in the set on the way to a 25-13 win and control of the match.
Eastern kept things close in the third set, and were tied at 17, but a three-point burst late in the set gave the hosts all they would need and Arcadia won 25-22.
The Knights hit .391 in the match. No Eastern player had more than five digs.
Eastern and Drew played two weeks ago in Madison, N.J.. The Rangers (14-13) took that contest in three sets. The Eagles dropped the opening two sets today before grinding out a 25-21 win in the third. Bagileo and
Connor Tucholski each had three kills in the set to help the Eagles to extend the match.
The Rangers hit .278 and were successful on 15-of-19 sideout opportunities to take the final set, 25-18. Tucholski finished with seven kills and 12 digs.
Chris Miller finished the match with 29 assists and 14 digs.
The Eagles will host Stevenson on Wednesday evening.
