ANNVILLE, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse put together a three-goal stretch around the halftime break, but the short-handed Eagles could not overcome a fast start by the host Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen and fell, 21-3.
With injuries and illness, the Eagles had only 12 active players for the game, and
Jordana Fredo made her debut in goal. LVC scored the first twelve goals of the game. Late int he first half,
Teresa Gailey put the Eagles on the board off a pass from
Emerson Shauger.
Morgan Wallace scored in the final seconds of the first half to close the gap to 12-2.
Early in the second half, Shauger fed
Emily Stiles for a goal. Shauger leads the Eagles with seven assists on the season. Shauger and Gailey each had four draw controls and the Eagles matched LVC with 13 draw controls in the match.
LVC (3-4) scored the final nine goals of the game to pull away. Fredo, who has played in goal in soccer, stopped nine shots.
The Eagles will travel to Washington, D.C. to take on Trinity College on Saturday.
