ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In its spring home opener on Saturday, Eastern Men's Tennis recorded its first win of the season with a 5-4 win over Lancaster Bible at the EU Tennis Courts. The Eagles won all three doubles matches and picked up a pair of wins at No. 2 and 3 singles.
At No. 1 doubles,
Jacob DeVage and
Jeffrey Day came away with an 8-6 triumph, while
Peter Folga and
Joshua Pavao earned a 8-5 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Jacob Craig and
Ethan Goonewardene dominated at No. 3 doubles, giving up just one game in an 8-1 win.
Day and Folga helped Eastern secure their first win of the season with victories in their singles matches. Day gave up just three games in a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Caleb Cavaiani at No. 2 singles, and Folga earned his first singles victory, 6-3, 6-4 over Cameron Tripp.
Eastern (1-3) will be back in action on the road at Rutger-Camden on Friday, March 22. The match is set to begin at 3:00 pm.
