READING, Pa.– Eastern University Field Hockey allowed just a single goal, but it proved to be enough as the host Albright College Lions held off a late push to claim a 1-0 MAC Commonwealth win. Angelina Catania made ten stops in the loss.

The Eagles (5-8, 0-2) scored in their first 11 games of the 2024 season, but after today's shutout loss, they are still looking for their first goal in league play. Eastern had chances throughout the game, but they were not able to convert any of the six penalty corners before the Albright goal or the three after the critical tally. 

The Lions (5-9, 1-1) had a 15-9 edge in shots in the game. The key play of the match came on the hosts first penalty corner of the fourth quarter. Catania made a stop on the first effort, but the Eastern defenders were unable to clear the circle and Keliah Santiago tucked in a shot from close range. 

The Eagles will look to find a league win at Hood College on Saturday.
